Ричард A. Наак (Richard A. Knaak) родился 28 мая 1961 г. в Чикаго, штат Иллинойс, США (Chicago, Illinois, USA).

Ричард пишет книги в жанре научная фантастика, фэнтези, манга, а также известен как активный участник популярной "Dragonlance" - серии романов, начатой Маргарет Уэйс и Трейси Хикмен.

Ричард Наак издается с 1987 года и его произведения переведены на немецкий, итальянский, французский, датский, японский, испанский, польский, финский, чешский, венгерский, турецкий и русский.
